Healthcaring Differently

Host

About

Healthcaring Differently is a new movement, created by Dr. Onye Nnorom (“Dr. O”) to inspire diverse students to pursue careers in healthcare through social media!! Dr O seeks to amplify the great work of diverse physicians and healthcare leaders across the country, as well as pathway programs to medicine and other areas of healthcare. This platform will also serve as a resource to medical students to explore career options within medicine.

This social media initiative will include live interviews with physicians and health professionals who are practicing differently because they are different – Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, differently-abled, and they are finding creative ways to serve unique communities and address health equity!

About

The Black Health Education Collaborative is a community of scholars and practitioners committed to improving Black health through education and research. Our mission is to address anti-Black racism and the interlocking systems that impact the health and wellbeing of Black communities across Canada. We understand Black health and Black life as intricately connected to the places and spaces in which we live, work, love, play, worship and resist. We draw on long histories of community and academic scholarship and resistance from Black, critical race theory, queer, feminist, anti/decolonial traditions.
